Granular Activated Carbon is used for filtering air and liquid to remove organic pollutants.

Adsorption of small molecular weight organics and pesticides from waste and potable water and Deozonation of Aquatic Centres.

Applications:
- Air Filtration Volatiles Organic (VOC’s):
- The GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the air source being treated. The carbon adsorbs the VOCs which are a common cause of odours.
- Methyl Bromide (MeBr): The GAC is used as a filter in the vent from the fumigation system.
- Waste Water Treatment:Â
- Waste Water: The granular activated carbon is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. The GAC is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted which may take several years.
- Stormwater: The granular activated carbon is used as part of a stormwater sand filter constructed specially for stormwater treatment through which the stormwater is flowing. The GAC will remove organic compounds present in the stormwater.Â
- Chlorine Removal:Â Removal of chlorine from municipal water supply to dairy / food processing plant. Removal of chlorine from municipal water supply to a water / beverage bottling plant.
- Aquatic Centre: The granular activated carbon is used as a filter in a vessel through which the water is pumped. The GAC is regularly backwashed and does not need to be replaced until it is exhausted which may take several years.
